Clara Taylor, an
accomplished underwater photographer based in the Florida Keys, was born and raised in
upstate New York then lived in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Her move in 1984 to Key
West, Florida, inspired Clara to first explore the tropical wonderland beneath the surface
of the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. After photographic studies
at Florida Keys Community College and the Nikonos Advanced School of Underwater
Photography, Ms. Taylor recognized her true calling to capture on film the exquisite
colors of splendid treasures of sea life, fish and coral in the Florida Keys and the
Bahamas.
Taylor has won several awards for her camera work; images have graced the covers of local brochures and calendars. Her brilliant color underwater photographs have appeared in the following publications: Discover Diving, Southern Diver, Sport Diver Magazine, and Scuba Times as well as Continental Magazine, Florida Living and USA Today. National Geographic's Guide to Miami and the Keys recently included 26 of Ms. Taylor's illuminations of the sun-splashed world above, and Discovery's Insiders' Guide to Diving published 10 Taylor prints of the underwater natural realm. |
